This Short Learning Programme (SLP) is offered and certified by Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and is called the Executive Course in Housing Policy. It covers all policies, regulations, and laws that have a bearing on the delivery of housing in South Africa. It outlines the legal drafting process and also stresses the importance not only of unambiguous policy and legal judgments but also compliance and effective implementation relating to these.
This SLP provides those pursuing a career in housing (or those wishing to pursue a career in housing) with essential and critical skills and knowledge to deliver optimally on their work.
On completion of this SLP, participants will have a demonstrable understanding of:
Participants enrolling for the programme should have a background in housing, human settlements or the built environment and be able to read and write English at a minimum NQF level 4.
Participants who are pursuing a career or who wish to pursue a career in housing, including but not limited to any of the following sectors: Government (Local, Provincial, or National), Banking or Financing, Building Contracting or Developing, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Property Management, Real Estate, Conveyancing, Structural Engineering, and Town Planning.
