The Medical Equipment Maintenance course is completely ONLINE, and participants may attend at any time convenient to them. The purpose of this short course is to equip Technicians and Engineers in the field of Medical Equipment Maintenance with Technical and Clinical knowledge, as well as practical experience to effectively work in the field of Medical Equipment Maintenance for both hospitals and medical equipment suppliers.
This Short Learning Programme (SLP) is organized by the Clinical Engineering Group, Department of Electrical Engineering, Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), in partnership with Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw), gGmbH, Wurzburg Germany. This SLP consists of a number of modules that deal with specific clinical equipment and will be suitable for staff already involved in clinical engineering and medical equipment maintenance activities. The programme consists of 15 modules, plus practical sessions which cover electromedical equipment commonly used in hospitals. This training course carries 11 CPD points awarded by Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), through the Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA).
