Introduction to Rapid Electronic Prototyping

The purpose o this programme is to equip participants with a fundamental understanding of programming PIC Microcontrollers. Apart from generics, specific attention will be paid to introduce microcontroller architecture and the C programming language used during firmware development and electronic product development

To equip participants with a fundamental understanding of rapid electronic prototyping techniques. Apart from generics, specific attention will be paid to the Arduino platform and its functions. This program will provide participants with hands on contextualised training.

This programme is 5 days virtual sessions where each session conceptualises as an organising framework to teach people how to focus on unending waves of change in manufacturing companies due to lean transformation with consequent successes and failures. The aim is to provide the programme participants with a working knowledge of how lean movement must support the successes, encourage the thinking to recognize the failure with formal engineering-type failure analysis.

This programme was developed to equip Tradespeople, Supervisors, Engineers, and technicians aspiring to pursue a career in Maintenance Planning and those currently working in the field but do not possess formal certification.

The purpose of this Short Learning Programme (SLP) is to enable participants to develop an understanding of foundational knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for lift inspections and assist candidates to meet the knowledge criteria required by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) to register as a Registered Lift Inspector (RLI).

The Medical Equipment Maintenance course is completely ONLINE, and participants may attend at any time convenient to them. The purpose of this short course is to equip Technicians and Engineers in the field of Medical Equipment Maintenance with Technical and Clinical knowledge, as well as practical experience to effectively work in the field of Medical Equipment Maintenance for both hospitals and medical equipment suppliers.

The creation of this SLP was inspired by a community engagement activity for an international collaborative project between Tshwane University of Technology (SA), Eco-V (SA) and Coventry University (UK). Furthermore, the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering in collaboration with the Technology Station in Electronics (TSE) has identified a gap in theoretical comprehension of renewable energy technology, especially solar technology.

This Short Learning Programme (SLP) is offered and certified by Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and is called the Executive Course in Housing Policy. It covers all policies, regulations, and laws that have a bearing on the delivery of housing in South Africa. It outlines the legal drafting process and also stresses the importance not only of unambiguous policy and legal judgments but also compliance and effective implementation relating to these.
